The Senior Manager, Logistics directs Supply Chain Operations / Logistics, inclusive of Warehouse, Raw Materials, Finished Goods Distribution, Transportation, Training, and the management / safeguarding of inventory for Grifols Therapeutics, LLC. Develops and executes strategies to ensure GT maintains the integrity of product distribution channels at the highest level of compliance and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDPs) in a rapidly changing environment.

Primary responsibilities for role (level-specific responsibilities are included in the chart below) :

  • Directs the distribution and general warehouse activities inclusive of receipt and storage of all incoming raw materials, components, and supplies. Ensures all raw materials and finished goods are stored in a compliant manner and that the appropriate controls are in place to effectively protect against loss and inventory discrepancies. Picks, packs, and delivers all raw materials to GT production units as scheduled. Picks, packs, and ships all domestic and international shipments within guidelines and regulations.

  • Executes the distribution strategy through the selection, contract management and coordination of freight forwarders and carriers of Grifols products and other materials. Provides expertise in this area assuring product integrity by enabling the acceptance and approval of shipping guidelines, economical and safe cold chain solutions, and contingency procedures by coordinating and influencing Quality Assurance (QA) Operations, Compliance, Validation, Customer Service and Sales personnel in the decision process. Serves as the Certified Designated Drug Representative for GUSA Distribution at the GT site.

  • Monitors changes to regulatory and compliance requirements and oversees the development and execution of cold chain strategies to ensure that all compliance standards and customer requirements are met. Executes quality risk assessments to ensure continued compliance and effective risk mitigation.

  • Maintains and leads the execution of the Clayton Site Material Management strategy inclusive of the planned upgrade to existing facilities, the selection to up fit for additional warehouse space and oversight of 3PL warehouse operations.

  • Leads the supply chain operations activities for the GT finished goods Serialization Program.

  • Manages the department budgets, expenses, and operations within established parameters.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the function.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field. Master's degree preferred. APCICS Certification preferred.

  • A a minimum of 8 years of related experience, including experience managing staff in a cGMP / GDP environment.

  • Project or technical leadership experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of logistics, distribution, and cold chain solutions.

  • Knowledge of supply chain current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Distribution Practices (GDPs) and compliance requirements for biopharmaceutical processes.

  • Excellent and demonstrated project management skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work cross functionally and with a wide variety of internal and external partners.

Work is performed in an office and/or a laboratory/manufacturing environment or plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32*, miscellaneous production chemicals, moving machinery and production equipment. Exposure to high levels of noise on production floor. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 35lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
