Summary:

• As part of the capital projects engineering team, for new or remodeled manufacturing facilities for plasma-based processes, intern would assist in the design, budget, procurement, fabrication and commissioning of hygienic equipment/facilities.

• The job is located at the Grifols Clayton, NC site and is NOT remote.

Primary Responsibilities/ Tasks:

Responsibilities would include any or all of the following:

• The engineering intern would develop/modify process and instrument flow diagrams, prepare specifications for equipment, prepare request for bids, evaluate proposals to select vendors/contractors to complete scopes of work, as well as follow up on orders, turn over packages and participate in factory acceptance tests.

• As part of a commissioning team, complete commissioning activities in preparation for validation.

• As part of the skid fabrication shop, assist in design, fabrication, and documentation of equipment. Learn and participate in welding.

• As part of a turnaround project, assist in preparing for construction during the summer maintenance turnaround.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing Associates, Bachelors or Masters degrees in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

• Prefer candidates with classes in biotechnology or hygienic systems.

• Prefer candidates with classes in AutoCAD, Plant3D, SolidWorks or 3D design.

• Prefer a candidate with welding experience.

• prefer candidates with classes in protein processing.

• GPA at least 3.0.
