The Supply Planning Specialist, Contract Manufacturing is primarily responsible to support to the execution of vendor, customer third party and intercompany contract manufacturing activities for GTI. The incumbent is to ensure that all contracts and contract amendments are robust, timely, add significant opportunity to generate increased value and adhere to GTI quality standards & regulatory requirements. This function will also be responsible for the production planning activities, working together with other stakeholders in manufacturing and global and GT planning to ensure utilisation and capacity is aligned with overall GT production plan. Also, oversee the management of all specifications and other critical documents related to contract manufacturing activities.

The position also requires Rapid Response (Kinaxis) management and support other planning activities and projects when needed.

Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Review, participate in the negotiation and execute 3rd party contract manufacturing contracts and contract amendments that are robust, timely, add significant opportunity for value generation to the business

  • Prepares production plans and manufacturing activity levels in support of financial/contract targets. Develops detailed manufacturing activity loads. Monitors manufacturing performance against budget and communicates issues that require corrective action with alternative solutions. Ensures timely resolution of issues that impede the flow of production.

  • Establishes capacity requirements and provides risk/benefit analysis as related to manufacturing activity levels.

  • Ensures SAP is utilized compliantly to track inventory, schedule manufacturing, issue manufacturing run books, and create product and environmental monitoring inspection lots. Provides expertise in SAP Planning, Scheduling, and Inventory Management to the site. Participates on SAP functionality implementation projects. Manages the on-going maintenance of computer applications.

  • Support coordination, inclusive of planning, adherence to quality agreements and logistics of intercompany material transfers

  • Ensure that all negotiation of contractual terms and conditions adhere to Grifols quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as a principal liaison between Grifols and third parties on project related contractual issues; identify and proactively raise issues and concerns in a timely, open and appropriate manner and develop recommendations to facilitate resolution.

  • Responsible for the ongoing contract management including Changes in Scope, Conflict resolution and reconciliation to customers of their own contracts.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of tracking systems for teams related to contracts, compensation clauses, and external costs

  • Assure purchased material meets all requirements prior to payment of invoice.

  • Work closely with Global Contract Manufacturing Services to develop global strategy.

  • Assist with development and implementation of strategies for increasing efficiencies in outsourcing.

  • Work with Global Contract Manufacturing to develop standard procedures and harmonisation of activities within Grifols Contract Manufacturing Services.

  • Act as a lead to develop, and to prepare, appropriate solutions to meet resourcing needs. This will include liaison with functional groups to determine and define the scope of contract services required, suitability of suppliers, identification, facilitation and resolution of all business and legal issues.

  • Lead in the development of detailed specifications, robustly question to ensure accuracy and ‘need Vs want’, liase with selected suppliers to ensure supplier capability, analyze resultant proposals (for both cost and service provision).

  • Develop planning templates and best practices with Rapid Response (Kinaxis) related to Contract manufacturing and support other teams if needed.

  • Work and coordinate necessary change controls, projects and regulatory updates related to Contract Manufacturing activities.

Additional Responsibilites:

  • Maintain an accurate database of critical contract documents.Conduct all activities in a manner that is compliant with the Grifols Ethics Standard.Support the evaluation of new opportunities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in Business, Operations, Science or related field.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in Biopharmaceutical production in a cGMP environment.

  • Exposure to business analysis and contract negotiations is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable with production, quality and business processes.

  • Excellent negotiation, oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to engage critical thinking and problem solving with excellent quantitive and analytical skills.

  • The incumbent must also have demonstrated the ability to effectively manage / lead projects with interdepartmental teams.

Equivalency:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

Occupational Demands: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels within the United States.
