Position Overview:

Leads the Regional Demand Planning team in delivering quality products and services on time in a cost effective manner to all customers, internal and external. Provides leadership and direction to the regional management team and Staff on the execution of Demand Planning activities in support of regional objectives. Acts as onsite lead for establishment and delivery of all Demand Planning services with an emphasis on regional growth. Monitors processes and products to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

● Manages North America regional demand planning team:

o Provides effective coaching and career development for direct reports within the Demand Planning function and their successive organizations

o Develops a culture that enables associates to bring innovation and collaboration in designing and implementing continuous improvements

o Develops and manage team’s career growth

● Owns regional demand and distribution planning processes to ensure product availability to customers:

o Sales and Operations Planning/Integrated Business Planning, etc. for all Dx product lines

o Manages day-to-day demand planning activities (such as PO creation, Good receipts, inbound PO tracking/followup).

o Manages maintenance of customer forecasts and inventories and coordinates the supply of the inventory to customers

o Provides supply chain leadership and primary point of contact within regional Commercial Supply Chain team

o Works effectively with peers in the Commercial Supply Chain including Logistics and Customer Service where there is close communication regarding specific inventory levels, customer demand patterns, special material needs by customers, customer complaints, etc.

● Develops world class performance of regional Demand Planning function to support regional operations success and growth strategies

o Drives regional Demand Planning strategy in accordance with regional sales, marketing and customer needs; Global Demand Planning strategy; and overall business objectives

o Leads development of business case for product delivery to new markets.

o Works closely with the Commercial organization to understand new products being introduced to the region

o Provides Demand Planning leadership on all new and existing tender renewals as well as all regional geographic expansion activities

● Maintains a strong culture of customer focus and continuous improvement

o Ensures that the highest level of customer service is provided to both internal and external customers

o Consistently delivers products in a timely manner to customers in compliance with department and corporate policies optimizing customer service, product quality, adherence to compliance requirements and minimizing cost

o Maintain communication with key stakeholders (sales team, services team and senior management) and customers to understand implications of their requirements for supply chain operations

o Deploy a structured methodology for the implementation and restructuring of Demand Planning to achieve Demand Planning excellence

o Identify and implement improvements to meet and exceed internal/external customer expectations Utilize IQP (Lean Six Sigma, VSM and other tools and techniques) to optimize Demand Planning processes and execution of key activities

● Manages world class performance of third party vendors to support business operations within the region

o Provides day-to-day management of regional product/materials vendors

o Conducts vendor business reviews in accordance with vendor management SOPs

o Develops/strengthens relationships with all regional material and service vendors

● Exercises broad influence on global demand planning operations as a key member of the Global Demand Planning leadership team

o Collaborates on, actively support and occasionally lead global initiatives as part of Global Demand Planning leadership team

o Continuously seeks ways to contribute to greater global demand planning performance, occasionally working on items outside of direct regional influence

● Ensures 3PL Inventory Integrity and SOX/Financial Compliance

  • Perform monthly and quarterly inventory reconciliation with Grifols 3PL warehouse (including cycle count adjustments, and adhoc inventory adjustments).

  • Perform annual inventory physical counts with Grifols external and internal auditors.

  • Perform Quarterly Inventory Reserve Analysis and Scrap exection.

  • Point of Contact for all SOX inventory questions / requests.

  • Overall performance of Demand Planning (including, but not limited to: delivery performance by category, scrap, inventory levels, shortages)

  • Key project management (KPIs specific KPIs to each project)

Skills/Qualifications/Education Requirements: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • BS Degree in Business or equivalent experience in Supply Chain; MBA or Masters in Supply Chain/Logistics

Seasoned knowledge of demand planning and other supply chain concepts

  • 8 years in demand/supply planning or specifically related function

  • English fluency; Local languages (including Spanish) are a benefit

  • Strong analytical capabilities

  • Experience supervising and managing demand/supply planning teams

Experienced manager with track record on developing a strong team

Excellent customer service skills – always willing to put the customer first

Demonstrates ownership in developing the business and his/her own personal growth

  • Develops solutions that solve cross-functional business problems

Has key technical experience to operate in environment

  • Knowledgeable of GMP and ISO

  • Experience with SAP, or equivalent ERP system

  • Experience in Sales forecasting and/or S&OP/Integrated Business Planning systems

  • High proficiency in current version of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project

  • Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues.
