Position Overview

The primary role of the Director Commercial Supply Chain North America is to efficiently and effectively lead the commercial supply chain, both customer service and logistics functions, in the North America region, to deliver the company's supply chain strategy, meet and exceed customer expectations, company cost targets and champion the needs of the customer in the end-to-end supply chain. This role serves as the key supply chain contact for both internal and external customers for the overall management of customer orders including order capture, order management, shipping and warehousing. The Director Commercial Supply Chain North America helps drive customer loyalty and achievement of the company’s sales, revenue and EBIT objectives by delivering exceptional customer fulfillment and logistics operations enhancing the customer experience, but also optimizing the use of resources and costs in the whole fulfillment chain.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Function : Develop the strategy and execution plan to deliver customer service, logistics and costs targets in North America

Result : Seamless order management to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner, matching the commercial company strategy in North America for each business division.

Activities & Authority / Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute the process of customer fulfillment in the region

  • Implement rigorous daily management routines across the organization and hold people accountable to deliver exceptional customer fulfillment.

  • Budget responsibility for North America customer service and logistics operations.

  • Define and track relevant metrics across key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure strong performance management. Implement a continuous improvement culture with diligent root cause analysis.

  • Drive the development of order-to-delivery systems, processes and resources to reduce cycle times through increased automation and application of digital technologies.

  • Partner cross-functionally to understand customer wants and needs, and develop solutions to drive excellence in customer experience and logistics

Function : Identify and execute joint value creation opportunities in the supply chain with key customers

Result : Strong and reliable customers relationship with key accounts, to help drive the customer experience enhancement and keep revenues safe in the long term.

Skills/Qualifications/Education Requirements: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering or a related field. A degree in a related field is strongly preferred

Experience: This role requires 12 years’ experience in customer service and logistics management and 5 or more years’ prior supervisory/managerial experience. Past overall supply chain management experience over different SC functions will be an asset.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues.
