Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager (Molecular Blood Screening) provides commercial and marketing leadership for blood screening assay and systems development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages the product from Voice of the Customer to feasibility ro commercial launch, including product claim/performance extensions.

  • Assesses customer needs, competitive risks, and long-term marketing potential of products.

  • Ensures NAT screening solution messaging is market appropriate and competitively positioned.

  • Develops and maintains sales and scientific materials to support the sales and promotion of NAT solutions.

  • Provides regular product updates throughout the organization to support commercial efforts.

  • Attends and lead commercially driven customer meetings and symposia to drive product sales

  • Ensures the product pipeline corresponds with current market needs.

  • Clearly defines project scopes, deliverables and timelines through standard project management means.

  • Supports establishment and maintenance of project budgets including timelines, resource usage and forecast, issues and resolutions, risks and mitigation actions, and amendment tracking.

  • Identifies variances and develops action plans addressing variances, ensuring plans are complete, feasible and all options are considered.

  • Tracks progress against plan, consolidating weekly status updates, communicating pro-gress reports (to team, project/program manager).

  • Works with project managers to identify and align dependencies, issues and risks. Produces and distributes regular and ad-hoc progress/status reports and management dashboard.

  • Works closely with senior members of Global Marketing Team to deliver overall product portfolio deliverables.

  • Participates in the creation of the Project Charter which includes the product business model

  • Reviews and approves documentation that supports the managing of the product during development, the establishment of clinical trials, regulatory submissions and processes that are critical to bringing product on the shelf in a timely manner

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct product training to improve product positioning, messaging, sales effectiveness

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. in life sciences or marketing required

  • Minimum of 6 years experience in sales/marketing and/or Blood Bank Laboratory management, or combination thereof required

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Blood Bank market, and technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to manage field travel and expenses

  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer facing role

  • Prior experience working in sales/marketing, and development of sales/marketing tools

  • Prior Blood Bank or Transfusion Service experience highly preferred

  • Excellent oral and written skills communication, ability to communicate professionally with external customers and Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Demonstrate high level of organizational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively interface with all levels of the organization and key diagnostic partners

  • Resourceful and able to work in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision

Occupational Demands

Ability to travel in North America, and some International travel.. Ability to spend > 25% of time in North America market.
