Responsible for construction projects, building/equipment permits, agency licenses and facilities planning efforts. Responsibilities include both new installations as well as upgrades to existing facilities.
Project management, critical path planning, budgeting, cost control, value engineering and cost/benefit analysis
Key member of project teams, working with both in-house and external engineers, Operations, Engineers and architects
Ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations, including: OSHA, FDA, Fire, Building/Safety, etc.
Put preventive maintenance programs in place for the donor centers with consistent practices across all companies
Process maintenance requests through maintenance request software (CMMS). Transition all current practices to software process for all donor centers
Communicate with donor center management regarding repairs, maintenance, new construction, appearance upgrades.
Manage multiple local contractors to complete work in donor centers across the company. Includes managing timeliness and satisfactory completion of work
Authorize and negotiate work proposals/estimates with local contractors
Coordinate with city and county officials for building/upgrading of new donor centers. Secure permits, review architectural plans and serve as project lead for completion of new donor centers
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree: Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering or Project Management or related field
3+ years of experience managing construction or equipment installation projects. Medical manufacturing (cGMP) experience a plus.
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
Knowledge of national building codes. Knowledge of construction methods and procedures. Ability to understand/interpret engineering and construction drawings. Self-motivated with decision making abilities. Must be able to read blue prints. Familiar with AutoCad, Microsoft Project and Office
Up to 75% travel required
