Summary
Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Management Manager to help oversee our West Coast customers. This position is part of the commercial sales team and is responsible for providing a focused leadership managing the instrument implementation process in order to insure quick Go Live and a quality customer experience. This position is responsible for communicating the resource requirements and coordinate the available GDS and third-party staff necessary for each go live project. This position is also responsible for collaborating with resource managers of the cross functional resources to meet and exceed the customer and Grifols goals and expectations throughout the instrument implementation process. This position is responsible for helping the commercial team meet and exceed the commercial revenue goals for reagents and capital sales. This position will interface with many different customer roles including but not limited to the Directors, Managers and Supervisors responsible for the Transfusion Medicine, IT, and the Procurement departments to facilitate the customer readiness for test of record.
To succeed in this role, we are seeking individuals with at least a BS in Life Sciences, MBA is preferred. PMP certification is required or attained within 1 year after hire. Individuals must have a background in Blood Banking along with 8 years in project leadership. Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification is preferred along with Lean Six Sigma green or black belt. Experience in IT and instrument implementation preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
Meet or exceed the commercial go live targets to drive the reagent and capital revenue growth
Create implementation plans to support the customer instrument implementation and go live goals
Provide weekly reports and updates to ensure business goals are being met
Coordinates with sales and customers the planning and execution of installation, implementation and go live at each customer site
Works closely with Grifols customers to set expectations for implementation
Coordinates customer IT staff and LIS Interface team to ensure instrument connectivity and their software is validated and operational
Coordinates and monitors all activities and resources for a timely instrument go-live to meet the commercial revenue goals
Drives each customer installation as a single project meeting all deliverables
Collaborate with cross functional groups to plan and execute each customer instrument installation
Collaborate with project team members from varied departments to achieve the customer Go Live efficiently as possible
Additional Responsibilities
Sales
Work with Sales team providing explanations of the implementation process.
Support regional sales meetings to answer questions and provide best practices
Service
Support Service managers in feedback of the performance of service team members
Mentor service personnel in project management training
Marketing
Provide marketing feedback on implementation challenges
Support marketing as needed for new collateral development
Product Implementation
Cover peer projects when peer is unavailable to conduct project meetings
Maintain updated project records to enable peer coverage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated Project Management
Presentation Skills required.
Excellent organizational, record keeping and inventory skills required.
Knowledge of GMP, ISO and other certifying agency policies and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft applications and familiar with computerized call handling systems preferred.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Self-motivated and self-directed, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
Education
BS in life sciences, with MBA preferred
PMP certification required, or attained within 1 year after hire
Experience
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in project leadership
Demonstrated knowledge & experience with instrument implementation and go live in a healthcare laboratory environment or medical device industry
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The ability to communicate professionally with external customers
Prior experience in working with instrument interfaces
Resourceful and able to work in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision
Experience with project management tools, Word, Power Point and Excel, Smartsheet
Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus
Equivalency
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a bachelor degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalence could include 8 years of experience, an Associate's degree with 6 years of experience or a master's degree with 2 years of experience.
Occupational Demands
Position will be based in the field with up to 50% travel required. Candidate must have ability to travel outside assigned geographic area. As needed, will cover additional geographic regions to facilitate significant implementation requirement of customer base.
Work hours are flexible, not conforming to a standard 40 hour work week; Overtime will be required.
Candidates will work from a home office.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay Scale
The estimated pay scale for the Senior Project Implementation Manager role with a flexible location base in the US, is $105,955 to $132,444 per year. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
