Primary responsibilities:
Provide support at the level required to reestablish the operational functionalities validated in the commissioning of the equipment or installation.
Diagnose the origin of the reported incidents in coordination with GE Technical Office and propose an action plan to correct the reported incidents. Coordinate and provide field intervention activities, if required for the requested assistance.
Coordinate field intervention activities, if required for the requested assistance. Support GE Field Engineers in the start-up of equipment and facilities when required. Assist the Field Engineers in defining the start-up strategy for the equipment supplied by GE. In field installations of equipment supplied by GE, proactively resolve problems that arise during installation and solve/provide support for problems that may arise after installation. Be able to analyze and make decisions at hand.
Maintain a fluid, cordial, and professional relationship with clients. Report improvement proposals to the technical office of the installed machine park. Promote compliance with quality standards, safety, environmental and occupational health regulations
In coordination with the person in charge of the TAS service, control the costs related to assistance interventions. Request offers for materials and/or services from suppliers in collaboration with Procurement. Manage purchase requests in coordination with the purchasing office. Coordinate Packaging list of the materials needed for the interventions. Coordinate supplies of goods, equipment, and spare parts in the field. Coordinate with the technical office any questions about the material that may arise during the installation or repair process.
Coordinate and organize the necessary tasks for the intervention to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. Supervise the optimal execution of tasks assigned to internal/external resources that have been also assigned.
Management with different subcontractors and external suppliers of goods and services, promoting teamwork. Monitor and manage workloads to ensure compliance with the milestones set in the planning. Search and recruitment of qualified external resources to absorb work peaks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Technical expertise in all types of maintenance and troubleshooting. Knowledge of various types of process equipment used in multiple plant processes. This position will be involved in complicated process or control issues as they arise and provide technical and engineering solutions.
Demonstrated high degree of independent work and sound decision making.
Capable of performing engineering calculations
Able to read and fully understand technical documentation (i.e. piping and instrument diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, electrical schematics, precision machine part drawing, programmable ladder logic, mechanical assembly, software function documents, sequence of operations, Original Equipment Manufacturer information in order to effectively complete tasks.
Willing to initiate and drive system change as needed for robustness of systems. Must be able to specify new field equipment such as pumps, control valves, instrumentation devices, refrigeration, piping, etc. that follow plant standards for material clearance and ease of maintenance.
Possess and demonstrate a high level of working knowledge and aptitude with thermodynamics, compressed gases, hydraulics, high purity water systems, pumps, valves, programmable logic controllers/programming, human machine interfaces, robotics, variable frequency drives, digital control systems (Delta V, ABB, Andover), to facilitate troubleshooting and remediation.
Able to define scope, specifications, and work with vendors to implement various projects as assigned including supporting the commissioning and validation of the equipment and any Computerized Maintenance Management System requirements.
Knowledge of industrial plant safety and environmental requirements including Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plans
Possess leadership abilities
Required Education and Experience:
Associate Degree and at least 8 years of experience
Proven track record in a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
Occupational Demands:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment or warehouse with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, hand tools and moving machinery. Operates forklifts, tractors and power equipment. Exposure to high levels of noise and to dust/gas/fumes/steam. Exposure to extreme cold below 32* and on occasion, exposure to extreme heat above 100*. Exposure to vibration or oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body. Occasional entry into confined spaces, requiring kneeling, crawling, climbing and squatting. Works at heights on scaffolding and/or on ladders. Walks on uneven ground. Personal protective equipment required such as; protective eyewear, chemical suits, safety shoes and/or rubber footwear, gloves, hearing protection and a respirator. Heavy lifting and carrying of 45lbs. for up to 6-8 hours per day, with a maximum lift of 75lbs. Work is performed standing, walking, bending and twisting waist for 4-6 hours per day. Frequent foot movements. Occasionally reaches above and below shoulder height. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Frequent hand movements with simple grasping of one hand with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, depth perception and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Performs a wide range of complex tasks. Adheres to a work schedule to meet production standards.
