Overview:

The Compensation Analyst supports the design, implementation, communication and administration of various compensation programs. They also ensure the organization's ability to develop and maintain a compensation program to attract, motivate, and retain a competent, diversified workforce.

The Compensation Analyst III, specifically focuses more on long-term needs of company. They help design and redesign compensation plans and programs to ensure proper implementation, while continuously looking for ways to improve the programs and practices. They also will work alongside management to ensure proper documentation, create tools, and automate processes where possible.

Primary responsibilities for the Compensation Analyst III include but are not limited to the following:

● Supports various employee incentive plans at both the corporate and division level.

● Serves as mentor and expert to other compensation staff.

● Analyzes current market data to determine the company's overall compensation position within the appropriate industry and reports findings to management.

● Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.

● Market pricing existing and new jobs to formulate recommendations to management and/or HR Business Partners.

● Participates in compensation surveys by providing company data for survey submission. Researches, evaluates, and recommends survey sources.

● Updates and maintains the job description database. Writes and prepares job descriptions as needed.

● Provides support to management and HR Business Partners on compensation issues related to salary offers for new hires, promotions, and transfers utilizing both internal and external equity information.

● Assists HR system testing and audits to ensure the HR system meets compensation needs and is updated to reflect changes in job titles, salary grades, salaries, job codes, bonus plans, etc.

● Works with HR systems and IT to implement on-line tools to enhance and simplify annual compensation processes and payments

● Maintains currency in state and federal statutes regulating pay practices to ensure company is in compliance.

● Supports compensation team and HR staff with new/revised HR programs, compensation plans or special projects as needed.

● Monitors local pay issues across the US and maintains appropriate geographic differentials.

● Maintains ownership of HR compensation administration business processes. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) with internal controls.

● Develops, supports, and maintains compensation administration system design as needed to accurately administer company compensation programs, including base pay and incentive pay across the organization.

● Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related field.

● Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.

● 8 years Compensation experience.

● Advanced knowledge of compensation and other employment related federal, state, and local laws.

● Advanced knowledge of compensation and other software applications such as MS Office, especially Excel.

● Advanced analytical, organization, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

● Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis.

● Ability to work across departments and with various levels.

● Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 30lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
