Grifols is looking to hire Global Program Leaders (GPLs) to support drug development programs across its therapeutic areas ( Immunology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease and Intensive Care ). GPLs will provide strategic project leadership and oversight within a cross-functional, highly matrixed, global program teams (GPT) to spearhead the development and execution of a specific asset/platform/program. They will drive innovation, generate a comprehensive integrated evidence plan of robust scientific and clinical data, and build the commercial attractiveness for the asset, to secure market access and reimbursement in accordance with the approved target product profile. Importantly, the GPL will be the single point of accountability for the asset/program up to the point of approval.

The reporting line will be SVP Medicines Development/Evidence Generation.

What your responsibilities will be

  • Strategic Leadership:

  • Leading a cross-functional team (GPT) to define and execute the asset's development strategy from early development through approval.

  • Developing and owning key strategic documents (Integrated Development Plan, Product Narratives, etc.).

  • Driving innovation and maximizing the asset's lifecycle value.

  • Accountability and Collaboration:

  • Serving as the single point of accountability for the asset's development.

  • Building strong partnerships with internal functions (CMC, Commercial, Legal, etc.) and external partners.

  • Securing resources and influencing team composition.

  • Managing budget and project plan.

  • Operational Excellence:

  • Driving efficiency and streamlining processes.

  • Leading risk assessment, contingency planning, and problem-solving.

  • Ensuring quality and compliance.

  • Monitoring disease area trends and competition.

  • Communication and Influence:

  • Championing the product and communicating its value to stakeholders.

  • Managing communication on GPT matters.

  • Providing regular updates to senior leadership.

  • Negotiating with functional heads.

  • Team Leadership and Culture:

  • Building team effectiveness and fostering a culture of trust, respect, and a "can-do" attitude.

  • Motivating and challenging team members.

  • Ensuring diversity and inclusion.

  • Conflict resolution.

  • Commercial Acumen:

  • Working closely with commercial leads.

  • Understanding the "big picture" and market access.

Who you are

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and/or ability required.   • PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred.

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in industry, academia, or consulting.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of the drug development process.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization.

  • Business acumen and budget management experience.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical portfolio risk management.

  • Experience in the relevant therapeutic areas is ideal.

  • Experience as a GPL or Compound Development Team Leader is preferred.

Flexibility for U Program: Hybrid Model

Flexible schedule: Monday-Thursday 7-10 to 16-19h and Friday 8-15h.
