Interstate Blood Bank Project Management Specialist in Vista, California

Summary:

The Project Management Specialist is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to the outlined goals and objectives and ensuring strong quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of project planning and execution.

  • Working with project team, sponsors, and stake holders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, resources, and timing.

  • Creating and managing detailed project plan including objectives, tasks, work structure, timelines, resources, and project risks.

  • Coordinate and facilitate project team meetings and proactively lead teams to accomplish project goals.

  • Develop and implement procedures, databases, tools etc. as needed for effective project management.

  • Identify and manage risks associated with projects and resolve any issues any problems that may arise during project life cycle.

  • Develop and implement procedures, databases, and tools for effective project management

  • Track and monitor project milestones, key metrics and analyze data to report to sponsors and stakeholders.

  • Create detailed execution plan including schedules, resources, training and ensure all are aligned prior to rollout and track and report progress.

  • Provide oversight of project execution through completion and ensure post implementation lessons learned are documented.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), Speak, Read, & Write English.

  • Effective phone and interpersonal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent project management experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years previous plasma management experience or 3 years of management experience.

  • Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

Occupational Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Extended periods of sitting, using keyboard, mouse and viewing computer monitor screen. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Employee must perform a variety of task, influence others, and use judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Employee may be exposed to toxic and caustic chemicals and frequently to biological hazards in the donor center. Employee may be required to travel 35% of the time.

The pay range for the Project Management Specialist role based in Vista, CA, is $82,314.70 - $123,470.90 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
